"My connection to coastal Karnataka runs deep," says Golden Star Ganesh as he reminisces about his journey in the Kannada film industry. He fondly recalls how his debut film, Chellata, had key individuals from Mangaluru, including the director, producer, and music director. Since then, life has continually brought him back to Karavali. Destiny also played a role in his marriage to Shilpa, who hails from the same region. Over time, his affinity for Tulu culture and the land of Parashurama Srishti has only grown stronger. Three years ago, during an event in Mangaluru, he expressed his aspiration to create a Tulu film. Now, that dream is coming to fruition as Shilpa and he gear up to work on their Tulu film.

Ganesh acknowledges the cultural influence of his mother-in-law, who often shares Tulu plays, Yakshagana performances, and clips from Tulu films with him. He admires the talent in the Tulu industry, particularly praising their impeccable comic timing. Ganesh expresses his excitement about collaborating with esteemed actors and filmmakers in the Tulu film project, highlighting that he will make a cameo appearance in the film, marking his debut in Tulu cinema. Fluent in Tulu, he teases that audiences can expect him to deliver some dialogues.

Regarding the upcoming film, Shilpa Ganesh shares that it will showcase Karavali, drawing a parallel to how "Mungaru Male" highlighted Coorg. For her, the project is deeply personal and serves as a tribute to her roots. Recalling her childhood in Dubai, she mentions how she would watch Tulu dramas at the Town Hall with her family.Located in Mangaluru, the area is abundantly rich in culture and arts, yet a significant portion of its potential remains unexplored. Through this film, our aim is to shed light on Mangaluru in a similar manner as Mungaru Male did for Coorg - highlighting its tourism, art, culture, and the linguistic excellence of the Karavali region,” Shilpa explains.
